Along the way…
Oops….
I got a little side tracked…
Here’s the latest on my CQ blocks…I’m working on a secret special project too…so progress is really slow!

Second block finished…
I finished up my second block last night….
15×15 CQ block two!
…and then I panicked!! The first and second block DO NOT look like they would go together! Uhh ohhh…so I laid out all 16, 20×20 muslin squares in my living room (taking up all empty floor space) and put my chosen fabric centers on each.
Well that was a learning experience…I didn’t like what I had going AT ALL! So I crawled all over the “quilt” and arranged and rearranged until I liked everything much better. I guess the one rule of crazy piecing is – there are no rules!!
I’ll debut the new block when I get a good start on it…I’m feeling a wee bit more confident about my color selection now. I have a project going on the sly, so the blocks are taking a little longer as they are sharing time right now…

So much floss…
What I would really like to know…is why most embroidery floss has to be six stranded?!?
It’s nice that there are all kinds of embroidery floss organizers…but I’m constantly fighting with the sections in use…the ones where I’ve already pulled out a few strands.
The stuff really bugs me! It seams so impractical…why isn’t it all neatly rolled up on a spool?!?

Yay! I finished the first CQ block and I’m on to another color…

I’m still undecided…but I think I’m enjoying hand sewing more than I would enjoy wrestling with a sewing machine…plus I set up in the living room in front of old movies, borrowed from the library, and alternate sewing and running to the iron…best of both worlds!!
